The Northeast Bakersfield region started in the early 1950's with future growth in mind and a large section of land extending to the Kern River Canyon. When the city growth found its way west in the 1960's, the undeveloped land remained bare and the increase in growth didn't come back to the area until the late 1990's. Some of the neighborhoods that are included in Northeast Bakersfield are Bakersfield Country Club, Panorama Drive on the Bluffs, College Heights, Rio Bravo, and City in the Hills. Some of the attractions to the area are: Hart Park, California Living Museum (CALM) , Lake Ming, Kern River Golf Course, and lets not forget the Rio Bravo Country Club.
