North Bakersfield (Oildale)

North Bakersfield, previously called Waits and the Northside was founded in 1909, when Samuel Dickinson subdivided his land. Oildale or North Bakersfield as it as it has been referred to, is adjacent to two of the largest oilfields in California. North Bakersfield is also home to the Meadows Field Airport, and is rapidly becoming the center of the distribution industry in Bakersfield. Some of the area neighborhoods in North Bakersfield include: North Country Meadows, Park View Estates, Meadow View, and Oildale.
